Essential oils

Extracting an essential oil is an act of patience: fresh plant material is placed in a high-pressure steam current until it releases its aromatic molecules, which condense into drops of pure essence. At Podere Merolfo we distil lavender, helichrysum and other herbs from our fields using a copper still. The result is an unadulterated oil, free from solvents and additives — just plant and water, carrying everything the Umbrian soil has poured into the roots.
